Dapchi attack: Gaidam insists withdrawal of military aided abduction

Yobe State governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, has stressed that the Boko Haram attacks in Government Girls Science Technical College, Dapchi and that of Buni Yadi in 2013 were aided by the withdrawal of military from their locations in the area.

The governor, who is angered by recent happening with regards to the abduction of the Dapchi girls said,” l want to put the record straight that there was no military presence at the time Boko Haram attacked Dapchi and we did not even know that the military had been withdrawn from the area.”

The governor stated this, when his counterpart of Borno State, Alhaji Kashim Shettima paid him a sympathy visit at Government House, Damaturu.

Gaidam said, the military did not notify them when their men were withdrawn.

“The Dapchi and Buni Yadi attacks are similar because both attacks came weeks after the military withdrawal from those locations. l want the press to quote me on this,” he added.
